"Nitinol"

Giovanni Almeida
Giovanni Almeida is a graphic designer currently based in Lausanne, Switzerland. While his work takes shape in a multitude of mediums, he aims to bridge the gap between verbal and nonverbal language through an approach that, despite often prescribed, remains gestural. At the present time, he is enrolled at the University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL), where he pursues a bachelor's in visual communication.
"NITINOL"
The project began as a material study around nitinol, a solution of nickel and titanium capable of memorising shapes through thermal states. This attribute was the starting point for the design of four characters that could alter from one to another, which ultimately led to a video that demonstrates their mutability.
