Dona Mayoora

Dona Mayoora, aka Donmay Donamayoora, is a bilingual/visual/experimental poet, creator of Calligraphy Stories (onomatopoeic graphic narratives without text). Her books include Ice Cubukal (2012), Neela Moonga (2019), Listening To Red (Visual Poetry, 2018), Echoes(2019), Language Lines & Poetry (Visual Poetry, 2020), and Ritu|Season (2022). Her Malayalam poems are taught in universities in India, and her visual poems have been exhibited several times in Italy, Canada, USA, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal & Brazil and featured in the international anthologies A History of Visual Text Art (2019) and JUDITH: Women Making Visual Poetry (2021). She was a co-editor of WAAVe Global Anthology of Women’so Asemic Writing and Visual Poetry (Hysterical Books, 2021), and collaborated with poets and artists from Asia, Europe & America. Dona is from India and currently lives in Connecticut, USA
